abstract layers and forms 1 - Iris Lehnhardt

Pale mint green opens the top of the sheet, and a wide rust red curve sweeps in from the right and bends back on itself. Yellow glows through underneath where the paint has been scraped thin. A pale column runs down the centre to the lower edge, and brick red holds the bottom corners. Every stroke carries the streaked grain of a loaded brush.

Acrylic laid down in wide sweeping strokes and scraped back so earlier layers show through. Iris Lehnhardt is a German visual artist who works in abstract painting, monoprint and collage, looking for a balance between minimal detail and layered colour. Available as a poster or fine art canvas print in multiple sizes.
