Protective Instinct - Elisa Kay

A lion and a lioness rest their heads together, manes painted in long strokes of amber, cream and deep brown. Behind them a golden yellow wash is crossed by running drips of blue and rust, and flecks of gold are scattered across the fur.

Oil and mixed media, built from sweeping brushwork and loose paint left to run down the surface. Elisa Kay is a visual artist and art therapist based in Leisel, Germany, who paints atmospheric abstract realism and wildlife portraits. Available as a poster or fine art canvas print in multiple sizes.
